![]() And if you feel like you’re not using this or that character’s ability, you can always spend a reset token to return skill points and redistribute them.Įach class of Gears Tactics has four skill branches, but in the case of support fighters, one of them is more important than the other three. There will be few skill points in a passage, so you will have to decide in which branch to develop your character (because it is only at the end of these branches that the most powerful abilities are found).Īfter completely completing Gears Tactics, I managed to pump out a branch for each frequently used character (heroes and a few soldiers), adding a few more skills from neighboring directions. However, in this game, each character has a large skill tree, which can be shown in four parts. I guess I can go back to some single class playthroughs again. The key to defeating Locust in Gears Tactics is to use the best, most useful skills. In all, it was the FFT I loved with more easy buttons. It's a shame because I spent so much time maxing out several characters. I didn't really get a chance to fully use Onion Knight because I didn't do any multiplayer for he best gear. Speedy Ninjas and powerful Dark Knights made fights like the 12 Monks a complete pushover. Not having that meant I needed another way to get a lot of Chaos Blades. I never used catch much because of the item dupe trick. I spent a lot of time in Deep Dungeon this time around too. They became beyond overpowered because they could soak so much damage and dish a ton out. I coupled them with a skill I didn't use much with the PS1 version, Shirahadori, and Feather Mantles. My speed group rounded out as a few Ninjas with Dark Knights. I was only really playing about an hour each night before bed so it was completed over a long stretch of time. So I finished up my full game playthrough recently. With that hack, I think I"ll also replay this game soon! Thanks Supersquall One day I'm gonna play the game with just Ramza and a shitton of chocobos. As you know, playing the game so many times its good ti mix it up lol. I'll eventually replace the thief with ninja and throw in some hybrid geomancer. Kjonez, that Squad sounds like it would be fun. Right now my main squad is 2 thiefs, 2 archers and a white mage. This run through I'm going with speed and light armor jobs. What is the patch you usd to get rid of the slowdown? I'm playing again through the story and that woul be a nice fix. Good for healing/defense summons too because who's got time to wait forever for things to charge up. Short charge(? I think that's what it was called, it's been a while) plus meteor or any of the summons tended to get the job done real fast. ![]() ![]() But I always enjoyed having a generic Summoner with Time magic in the original. ![]() Anyone have an interesting combos? My party is light on healing. I don't even know who I am going to use for the final two slots, although Balthier is probably one of them. Not really sure about anything else for him.Įveryone else I am not 100% certain on. He has a good MA value so I thought that Samurai would be a good thing to pair with it. She is a decent candidate for wielding Excalibur. I spent the entire game getting her the Dark Knight class so she could improve on the bad PA value of her base Holy Knight class. I have plans to have him dual-wield Rune Blades to give him an awesome MA stat to go with his 97 Faith stat.ĭark Knight main, Holy Knight minor. He has learned every spell that can be cast with Arithmeticks. I've finished the game several times before but I like to play it differently every time. I'm playing the PSP remake of FFT right now (which, with a patch applied to fix the slowdown glitch, is awesome), and I'm near the end of the game and wondered what setups people used for some of their final parties. ![]() Final Fantasy Online Forums > Video Gaming Discussion > Final Fantasy Seriesįinal Fantasy Tactics Character Builds. ![]()
